Written upon a story by Indian author Mahesh Bhatt &
directed by Mohit Suri, the Bollywood movie Hamari
Adhuri Kahani which means “Our Incomplete Story” is inspired by the
true love story of Indian film director, producer & screenwriter
Mahesh Bhatt’s parents.
The story plot of the movie which was released worldwide
on 12th June 2015 is about a married woman whose spouse is lost,
while she is bound by the shackles of a society & later builds up a tragic romance with a rich businessman involved in hotel
industry. The movie which stars Emraan Hashmi, Vidya Balan, Raj Kumar Rao,
Amala Akkineni, Suhashini Mulay and Namit Das in lead roles is delivered
jointly under the banner of Vishesh Films & Fox Star Studios. The hindhi
romantic drama movie which was created with a budget of 35 crore Indian rupees
which is equivalent to 9.2 million US dollars with a running time of 129
minutes, is produced by the two brothers Mahesh Bhatt & Mukesh Bhatt. This
movie which is the 3rd film of actor Emraan Hashmi & actress
Vidya Balan together was shot in India, United Arab Emirates & South Africa.
Even though this movie includes
melodramatic and regressive dialogues, Mohit Suri’s this direction received
mixed-to-negative reviews from movie critics. While most film critics’ marks
the author Mahesh Bhatt’s story writing format as the biggest weakness for
director Mohit Suri to present a confused direction in a movie with a mixed set
of emotions. However the soulful music given to the movie Hamari Adhuri Kahani by
Ami Mishra, Jeet Gannguli and Mithoon Sharma could be a reason why the audience has started talking about this film which was said to be the most awaited love story of the year 2015.
Despite the movie Hamari Adhuri Kahani being a commercial
success & a watchable movie, this film was rated as a flop by Box Office
India. Humari Adhuri Kahani has proved that not even a talented director can
shine without a proper story plot.
