About the Author
Adamington Online established its place in the media scene on Sunday, 9th December 2007. The online platform is operated & managed by Adam Mohamed from the beautiful island nation Maldives. It started it's journey as a truly independent blog to support the concepts of democracy appreciating constructive criticism from people who are willing to welcome productive new ideas with challenge-able thinking.
The tone of Adamington Online will be non-judgmental, objective and fair by including all relevant opinions and ensure that no significant strand of thought is neglected. Adamington Online is committed to delivering accurate and impartial facts with the aim of informing the public debate and enabling the public to make educated choices.
The blog has got the legal spirit under the article 27 of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives which states “Everyone has the right to freedom of thought and the freedom to communicate opinions and expressions in a manner that is not contrary to any tenet of Islam". Hence, the platform is here offering the public to showcase their opinions and help to create a knowledge-based society where citizens can express views.
Adamington Online advocates rule of law, human rights, gender issues, national interests, press freedom, transparency and accountability which the platform has never compromised. The uniqueness of Adamington Online is in its non-partisan position, in the freedom it enjoys from any influence of vested groups. However, Adamington Online welcomes contributions from other writers and their pieces are published with by-line in the Opinion section.
