Last month from 5th May to 19th May, traveled to Chennai City, the capital of Indian State Tamil Nadu which is also the fourth largest city of India. During my 15 days at the leading commercial centre of South India, I could agree that Chennai City plays an important role in the tradition & history of India being the cultural hub of South India.

Chennai City which is famous for its affluent heritage, music, architecture, sculpture & crafts is known as the ‘Gateway to South India’ which was also named as “Madras” earlier. As I’ve traveled to Trivandrum which is the capital of Kerala & Bangalore which is the capital of Karnataka before, comparing to these two state capitals I feel that Chennai city is perhaps, the dirtiest city of India I’ve visited yet. At Chennai City I’ve seen & noticed that it’s like a trend for people to urinate on the roads and most people never even care about cleanliness of public places. It clearly visualize that the residents of Chennai are tolerant of dirt conditions of the city compared to residents of Trivandrum & Bangalore where I’ve visited before. Even though many offices in Chennai city is clean and well designed, at most of the roads of Chennai City I’ve witnessed the garbage scenario and the nauseating smell which is so unhygienic and bad. Chennai City is very well-connected to all the major cities of India where leading industries includes automobile, software services, petrochemicals, financial services, textiles and hardware manufacturing. Chennai city provides a good local transport service which includes bus, Taxi, Auto, maxi cab, mini private bus & suburban railway network. The official language of the city is Tamil even though languages such as English, Hindi, Urdu & Malayalam are used by people. Chennai City remains the chief retail industry of India with "Theagaraya Nagar" which is reputed as India’s biggest shopping district by revenue. Chennai city is rightly famous for its elaborate, spicy cuisine while cooking is mostly meat-free, and it bursts with the flavors with chilies, curry leaves and coconut.

Chennai City where there’s a tropical season throughout the year, still holds a great historical past related to its origin and development as a metro city of India.
