Obviously Maldives have failed as a nation today after the death of a 3 year old innocent toddler named Mohamed Ibthihaal occurred in Vaavu atoll’s Rakeedhoo Island yesterday morning.

Mohamed Ibthihaal was found dead yesterday at around morning 11:45am unconscious in the sitting room of a house in Rakeedhoo, having suffered multiple brutal visible injuries at his body. Anyone with a human heart would shed tears after seeing the images of the leaked pictures which is also rotating at social media with the visible wounds on Ibthihaal’s body by his own mother. Photos which have been rotating at social media show signs of injuries on his neck, forehead & a swollen ear. According to the islanders of V. Rakeedhoo, Ibthihaal was conceived illegitimately to his mother Afiya & the Islanders claim that his mother had physically abused & beaten Ibthihaal mercilessly several times in the past. Residents of the island notify that the Ministry of Gender & Maldives Police Service has being informed previously about this case. According to Hussain Muaz who is the deputy director of Rakeedhoo council, a week ago some officials from Ministry of Gender came to the island to take Ibthihaal but had returned after Afiya had insisted. Prosecutor General Mr. Muhuthaz Muhsin today said that the institution will investigate all government intuitions involved in the case of Mohamed Ibthihaal, & if any negligence of a government institution is found, it’ll be prosecuted accordingly. Human Rights Commission of the Maldives has also now begun investigating this case. However, there’s chance to question whether neglect of the general public & government authorities has a key role to play in toddler Ibthihaal’s death. In my opinion, Ministry of Gender, Family & Human Human Rights, Island Council of Rakeedhoo, Maldives Police service & the local residents of the island are equally blamed for being deaf & blind knowing that the toddler has suffered abuse from his mother once.

While the mother of the toddler lays unconscious & is receiving treatment at Rakeedhoo health Post, the dead body of toddler Ibthihaal has been brought to Male’ city by Maldives Police Service for further investigation. Toddler Ibthihaal’s funeral is postponed until the full investigation is to be completed by a special team of Maldives Police Service. Child abuse is defined as the physical, sexual or emotional maltreatment or neglect of a child which can take several forms. If there's no legal protection for the innocent little birds of the future of this country, for what are we standing as an independent nation? May Allah bestow peace to the soul of the innocent toddler Mohamed Ibthihaal.
