"Special need" patient Mishfaq missing






The 28 year old Ahmed Mishfaq from West beach of Addu City's Hithadhoo island who was a patient at the "Center for the Special Needs People" in Guraidhoo island of Kaafu atoll has been reported missing since last Friday.

The deputy minister of Ministry of Law & Gender, Mr. Mohamed Zahid said that the nurses of the center discovered Mishfaq's missing on Friday, 12th of this month at around 7:00 pm. According to the media official of Maldives Police Service, Mishfaq's disappearance from the "Center for the Special Needs People" in K. Guraidhoo had been reported to the service at around 8:00 p.m on the same Friday night. MNDF coast guard has been searching K. Guraidhoo island’s lagoon since the missing was reported. Joined together Maldives Police Service, MNDF, K. Guraidhoo Council members, Staffs of the Center for the Special Needs People of K.Guraidhoo & local residents of the island are still searching for the missing Mishfaq.  

The island of K. Guraidhoo where Mishfaq went missing does not contain a police station, even though Maldives Police Service requests anyone regarding the information about Mishfaq to contact the service via the official hotline of Maldives Police Service 3322111 or to contact the number being of K. Guraidhoo police station 9926095. Further more Maldives Police Service instructs the public to contact the relevant office of their island council, if the island is an island which does not contain a police station.
