The Poster of the Hollywood movie "Not Today" |
"Not Today" is a 1 hour and 43 minute Hollywood movie based on a troubled young man trying to find a girl sold into slavery in India by the director Jon Van Dyke. “Not Today” stars Cody Longo the lead male young character named Cadenm, Kiran (Walid Amini) as a desperate homeless father, Annika (Persis Karen) as the missing girl unwittingly sold into sexual slavery. Writer-director Jon Van Dyke's movie "Not Today" is a faith-based drama genre. In the movie "Not Today" Annika lives in Hyderabad with her homeless father, Kiran ,who promises to protect her and feed her. Annika and her Dad both are Dalits by birth. When she runs to him in fear that “today is the day” when he will have to sell her in order to feed her, and himself, his reassurance is unconvincing. The rest of the film is a frantic search through the slums of several cities for Annika, punctuated by intense prayers and frustration. "Not Today" was released at 12th April 2013 with an estimated budget of $1,600,000. The movie was filmed at Orange County, California of USA, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh of India and Mumbai, Maharashtra of India. According to the main production company of "Not Today", the movie was funded with $1.6 million from the Friends Church in Yorba Linda, California. This is a film that will make you want to get involved because of it's great story line. The movie "Not Today" is also about the power of faith and prayer in changing lives. I would say this is one of the best Hollywood movies which I have watched yet at the year 2013.
