JTHJ: As long as there is life

JTHJ or Jab Tak Hai Jaan is a Bollywood movie about a three corner love triangle which marks the return of king of romance, Yash Chopra as a director after eight years of break at his direction career. JTHJ is a simple love story of a man, who died every day & every moment in the hope for his true love.  Yes, I'm talking about the legendary Bollywood filmmaker Yash Chopra’s last present, Jab Tak Hai Jaan which means “As long as there is life”. The main lead features of this movie are Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif & the Anushka Sharma who made many of us cry in her first movie “Rabne banaadhe Jodi”. True love is when your heart and your minds are saying the same thing that is a small summary which I guess from “Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan is a romance which pictures of love & passion of human souls tied in romance. The main story begins when the young musician Shah falls in love with the beautiful Katrina. Shah has never imagined that his love had to face a dark world in the path of love. The story of Shah and Katrina’s love is like that these two lovers cannot breathe without each other. Shah and Katrina proves that communicating our own feelings with people we are close is essential in life. On the day Katrina is supposed to tell her father about their relationship, Shah gets into a horrible accident. Katrina prays to her God Jesus to save Shah’s life and makes a vow never to meet Shah again if her prayer is granted. Her prayer was granted and soon Shah gets the recovery and knows about Katrina’s vow. In anger Shah leaves to London upon Katrina’s request telling Katrina to leave him & go away. Shah pray God to keep him alive while he believes his death is the only way to make Katrina lose her faith from whom he believed has stealed his love from Katrina. Shah travels to India and starts his career in the successful Indian Army. Yet they had to get separate due to fate, Shah and Katrina's love remained strong & passionate inside them. So the key question remained until when the young, Anushka came into the shattered critical picture. As Anushka appeared to one of the corners of this romance, things rotated even more unexpectedly.  Anushka is a filmmaker from the famous worldwide Discovery Channel. Anushka came up to meet Shah co-incidentally when once she dives into a river and is saved by Shah in a drowning attempt. After saving Anushkha’s life Shah leaves her without having any dialogue with her but after giving his jacket to her. Anushka finds Shah’s diary in one of the pocket of the jacket and starts reading it with full attention. After she had read the full diary of Shah, tears shed out of her eyes with emotion.  As Anushka finishes reading the diary, she expresses her personal interest to her supervisor to make a documentary film about a bomb disposal squad naming the documentary as “The man who cannot die”. Anushka meets Shah for help and soon gets mixed up with Shah and his team after her emotional pleads begging for a chance.  As soon as she joins Shah’s team she starts showing romantic feelings towards Shah thinking Shah would admire her romance. Soon Anushka finishes her documentary film successfully. At the last night which Anushka stays with Shah before she departs back to London, Anushka had a direct conversation with Shah. Within this conversation Shah asks Anushka a complicated question which completely changed her mood. Shah asks Anushka whether there is anything that she would not do in her life. In a silent mood Anushka replies to Shah telling that there is one thing and tries to hide it to him. Shah starts to convince her to get the answer. Soon in a silent tone Anushka tells Shah that she has fallen in love with him & that is something she will never do with any other man in this world. Hearing Anushkha’s answer Shah feels sympathy for her but refuse to accept her love due to his saddening past & his very own memories of true love with Katrina. Anushka arriving back at London shows her documentary to her supervisor, which flowed tears out of her supervisor’s eyes. Her supervisor demanded Anushka that she wants Shah to be present at London at the launching ceremony of the documentary “The man who cannot die”. Anushka thought this demand another challenge towards her success in the path of her career. Anushka understanding that it would be a difficult task to bring Shah to where his true love lives, tries to persuade Shah through her dialogues, but at first Shah refuses her request but finally agrees to come to London. Arriving to London after long ten years again Shah is hit by a car accident in a life saving attempt of Anushka just upon arrival. Shah’s condition gets critical according to the doctor. Doctor reports Anushka that Shah is suffering from a diagnosis known as retrograde amnesia after the accident. Anushkha gets shocked as the doctor confirms that Shah will remember only the events before his first accident which occurred ten years ago. To Anushkha’s surprise Shah starts to call Katrina. Anushka couldn’t close her lips where she had opened her heart for Shah, so sympathy flowed in her heart. For the love that Anushka had for Shah, she meets Katrina and pleads her to help in Shah’s recovery. The history has recalled this very emotional moment as Shah and Katrina faced each other again after 10 long separated years which both suffered a lot with each other’s memories.  Katrina’s mind was working overtime, struggling to send a clear message of love to her heart as she saw the condition of Shah. It is in this same spot as if Katrina’s expression seemed to me that we’re never hurt about anything we don’t care about.  Love may describe compassionate and affectionate actions towards other humans, likewise after having met Shah after 10 years even Katrina sensed as if she was witnessing the true love through Shah’s tired eyes. Katrina agrees to Anushkha’s sympathetic request and acts as Shah’s wife. While on-going this time one day Shah comes across a bomb planted in the London underground while in the train station and helps the London police defuse the dangerous time bomb. While working on this Shah recalls his memory and start to feel that Katrina was lying to him in their relationship. So Shah confronts Katrina at a church and gives her a choice. Shah gave two choices to Katrina. The two choices include Katrina to be with him or Shah continuing on risking his own life until death grabs him. Katrina ignores Shah again which forced Shah to departure for Kashmir where he continues his army duty of defusing the dangerous bombs without any fear for his very own life. After arranging Shah’s departure back to India, Anushka came up with a dialogue with Katrina regarding Shah. In this conversation Anushka clarifies Katrina that it was not the destiny of fate to be blamed in Shah & her case. Within this conversation Katrina came to believe the fact that it was her prayers which had invaded her beliefs which turned Shah to a fate which is worse & horrible than death. Katrina had been previously also inspired by his mother, who fled away with some other man, whom she loved while she was married to Katrina’s dad.  At the very starting of her & Shah’s relationship, Katrina’s mother in her first conversation with Katrina told her that in the current world, many of us hardly listen to what our hearts speak and go completely by minds. But, we never realize the mistake we commit by doing so. Realizing and assuming her mistake Katrina travels to her home country India to meet Shah at Kashmir. As usual when Shah was fulfilling his responsibility of defusing bombs near the Kashmir border, Shah sees Katrina in a pure white dress near the border. Shah moves near towards Katrina and starts to talk to her. At this conversation Katrina tells Shah that for every relationship there arrives a time and now is the right time for their relationship to get reunited forgetting the past. In the mean time Anushka was giving a presentation about her documentary film “The man who cannot die” to an audience in the screening ceremony of this film. While Shah was engaged with Katrina with the conversation of their life, one of Shah’s army members discovers a bomb and calls him to defuse it. With confidence Shah Steps away from Katrina for few minutes to cope with the bomb and Shah defuses his last bomb and proposes to Katrina on the same spot at where their love relationship ties get tied up forever.

The big picture which this movie proves us is that the way we remember the past is the way we see the future. Shah has succeeded his love not only by waiting for the right time but taking the right decisions in his life where fate intervened Katrina’s beliefs. No matter what destiny put Shah and Katrina through, they still had within them the power to choose how they was going to order their inner environment, their thoughts, their feelings and their own beings. Jab Tak Hai Jaan gives us the moral message that Yes & No are two valuable words obtaining & maintaining relationships. Through the entire movie Shah and Katrina even the super girl Anushka believes that these two words will always remain in guarding their love relationships. If romance needs a better meaning this movie "Jab Tak Hai Jaan” would surely make the ideal piece of romance which would be remembered forever. In my personal view I surely believe that true love never dies "Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
