Today 27th October 2011 turns my life into a new step again. Today is special for me as it’s my 22nd birthday. Birthdays are always special for different reasons for different people. This birthday is indeed special for me in many ways. One reason is that it makes me more from a youth to a youthful youth.
As am celebrating my new age I like to remember all the paths I passed while I was reaching to my new birthday. Also want to thank all the people who had helped me through out the easy and difficult days. Especially I would like to thank juney, who have always been with me when I need an advice or a companion and when I need someone’s help most. She won’t know that I have a blog so I am not sure that she would be reading this article from my blog. Most of all I am very happy to celebrate my new birthday as a job holder. Last two years was somehow within the worst days of my life doing contract jobs for particular periods of time without any hope in my professional life. It also made me think badly about my personal life. This led to loose my confidence due to which my self esteem got poor. At last I got a new permanent job at April; this job is related to sales and customer relations which is not new to me. Thanks go to my god only, who made it in my luck after so many days. I’d also like to thank a friend of mine who gave me the chance of a job at his work place. He was a classmate of mine at Cyryx when I was doing my certificate III in Information Technology.
During the period when I was doing some short period contract jobs, I would like to specially mark the job which I did at elections commission of Maldives during the 1st local council elections held in this year’s March. I worked at elections commission as an elections official at one of the voting stations in 5th February 2011. I had to work at the station located at Majeedhiyya School where I studied in my secondary grades. The Ballot box number was S01.0.1. Ballot box was categorized as Hulhumeedhoo dhaaira/ seenu meedhoo with the name as Addu city council Male’ given as a name. Later at 8th February I was again contacted by the commission. This time I was offered to work at their IT & registration department verifying and checking the result sheets of local council elections. My record card number was 001628. It was my 1st time in my whole life to work in an election of my country. It was an amazing and challenging experience in many ways.
As life is going forward with my birthday today, I have got many lessons from the passed pages of my life. I would like to aim to learn from the mistakes which I made through out my life while I was reaching this birthday. Surely mistakes are a part of every human of this world. But the wise people are those who try not to repeat the same mistake after knowing that he had done a mistake. While reaching to this new age, I have changed the way I use to think about many things. Most of all, there was a time when I believed that asking forgiveness or feeling sorry for something or a mistake was a weakness of mine. But I have realized now that giving up always does not mean that I am weak to let things go but it also means that I am strong enough to come up with my mistakes and improve them. For others who do not like my attitude, I’d like to tell them to love me for who I am. Not for what I am not. Because I was born to this world with my attitude and I believe some features in my attitude will be there forever while other features will change according to time and situation due to the different age groups which I will reach through out my life.
May god help me and bless me through out this birthday by enlightening my life into new heights with new colors of hope. I hope my great dreams will come true some day and may this birthday be the foundation of such expectations and my future endeavors. I wish this coming up year will be a prospective and enhancing year to me in every aspect of life.
