Prominent British actor David Ryall who started his acting career in 1970s has died on Christmas Day aged 79. The actor who began his career on the stage before becoming a familiar face on British TV was born on 5th January 1935, at England.

The veteran actor whose acting career spanned more than half a century became well known to the American audiences, as he replaced Peter Cartwright from the role of Elphias Doge in movie “The Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows – Part 1” at the year 2010. In the movie he played the role of a man named Elphias Doge, who is a close friend of Albus Dumbledore. In his long acting career David has performed at films, TV series & at theater plays. Some of the television roles of David include; Britain’s oldest man in BBC’s “The Village” & Mr. Hall in writer Dennis Potter’s “The Singing Detective”, Andrew Davies’ adaptation of “House of Cards, British sitcom “Goodnight Sweetheart”, Holby City, Casualty, Goodnight Sweetheart, ITV’s “Midsomer Murders, Prime Suspect, The Return Of Shelley, The Borrowers & the Foyle’s War. Some of the movies Ryall starred included; City Of Ember 2008, Hysteria 2011, Around the World in 80 Days 2004, Truly, Madly, Deeply 1990, The Elephant Man 1980 & the most recent role was played at Mr. Turner of 2014. 
 
David who received a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in the year 1962 is survived by his son, the music manager Jonathan Ryall, and two daughters, singer Imogen Ryall & actress Charlie Ryall.
