budget for the year 2015 proposed by Minister of Finance & Treasury, Mr Abdulla
Jihad is set around MVR 24.3 billion.
The report of Maldives state budget 2015 has been read out at Parliament house
today by budget Committee Chairman MP Ahmed Nihaan Hussain Manik. The MVR
24.3 billion state budget proposed by the government for the year 2015 has been
reviewed by Parliament Budget Committee and passed by the majority of the
budget committee members without any amendments. Even though there is no amendments for
the state budget 2015, the biggest opposition MDP and PPM government’s
coalition partner Jumhooree Party has submitted few recommendations to the
state budget 2015. The boldest recommendations includes extending financing for
social security of locals and amendments to provide higher subsidy rates for
the fishing and agricultural sector of the country. The Parliament Speaker Abdulla Maseeh today stated that the voting process to
pass the proposed state budget for 2015 will take place at coming up
Tuesday, 9th December.
