UK's first female PM "Iron lady" Margaret Thatcher dies

"Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren't", is one of the meaning full quote said by Margaret, the Iron lady of Britain. Margaret Hilda Thatcher also the well known "Iron lady", the longest-serving only woman ever to held the post of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of the 20th century has died at her age 87 at Ritz Hotel in UK's capital, London. According to Britain's media, Margaret was admitted to remove a growth in her bladder in last year 2012 but talking to the media today her spokeswoman said that she suffered a stroke which her spokeswoman predicted as the cause for Margaret's death. Margaret's ex-spokesman Lord Tim Bell , said "It is with great sadness that Mark and Carol Thatcher announced that their mother Baroness Thatcher died peacefully following a stroke this morning at 11:00 am this morning".

Margaret Thatcher was the daughter of Alfred Roberts and Beatrice Ethel. She was born at 13th October 1925 in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Margaret was named "Iron lady" as a nickname by a Soviet journalist due to her leadership style & political toughness. In 1975 she became the first woman to lead a major political party, Conservative Party in Britain eventhough she was a Chemist & a Lawyer by Proffession. In the year 1979, Margaret won the general election and became the first female Prime Minister of Britain. In the year 1983 she got re-elected due to the Falklands war, a crisis resulted from the long-standing dispute over the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, between Argentina and UK. Again in the year 1987, Margaret Thatcher was re-elected for a third to the office creating history. In 28th November at the year 1990, Margaret resigned as the first female Prime Minister & the leader of Conservative party leader due to mass challenges to her leadership plus her implemented conservative policies known as Thatcherism by Michael Heseltine, a Conservative political British businessman.

Margaret Thatcher married Dennis Thatcher, a bussinessman in 1951 and spent her life with him until Dennis dies at the year 2003. Margaret & Dennis had two children, Carol Thatcher & Mark Thatcher whom were not at her bedside while she died as they were abroad, according to Margaret's family statements to public media. Due to Margaret's sudden death Flags have been lowered to half mast at Britain's Downing Street. UK's Prime Minister David Cameroon cuts short European trip after hearing the news and said: "We've lost a great prime minister, a great leader, a great Briton" while US President Barack Obama said America had lost a "true friend", reacting to her passing. Queen Elizabeth has sent a message of sympathy to her family expressing her saddness to hear the news of Margaret's death. Since 2002 Margaret Thatcher retired from public engagements following continuous series of small strokes which led her occasionally appear in public. Britain's one and only woman Prime minister was a successful woman among very few world leaders who changed not only the political landscape of her own country but of the mass world inspiring other nations because of her valuable words which carried great weight. "It pays to know the enemy - not least because at some time you may have the opportunity to turn him into a friend", quotes Thatcher in one of her inspiring speech to the Britain's public.
